Disco music lovers will enjoy Those Sensuous Seductive 70’s
Black Ensemble Theater had a success with Those Sensational Soulful ‘60’s so Jackie Taylor has launched a tribute to the 70’s. Playing in repertory with Memphis Soul, this disco driven era of music leaves me flat. I hate disco music in any form. All the songs sound alike to me. Therefore, I put on my reporter hat in order to be honest about this show. The audience loved this show and were more vocal and animated than usual. Disco is loved, I guess?

If you like disco, you’ll cherish this tribute that features the works of Donna Summer, Don Cornelius, Al Green, Peaches & Herb, The Emotions, The Jacksons, Diana Ross and Chaka Khan. Most of the songs, I’ve never heard because in the 70’s I turned off disco quickly and I never went to disco clubs. My ignorance of this music should be noted. I did like “What’s Going On” and “The Best of My Love.” If you love the above talents, then Jackie Taylor’s show will rock your boat. Black Ensemble Theater’s musical arrangements and talents do justice to the era and the artists, so disco is served nicely in this show. Lovers of this ear will clap and tap their toes in this high energy show.
