Short younger stories tellers have weak stories
Theatre Seven like to produce new plays and their latest short run features five youthful writers who had to tell truthful stories that are acted out ensemble style. These autobiographical stories are energetically performed by Minita Gandhi, Tracey Kaplan, Jordana Kritzer, Rob McLemore, Keith Neagle, Josh Nordmark, Niccole Thurman, Nick Ward and George Zerante.

My problem with this show lies in the fact that these writers have told true stories and these five writers don’t have very interesting stories to tell. As an older person, I didn’t find much to interest me as the stories mostly came from these writer’s youth. One story concern a five year-old’s memory, another deals with a guy who lives in Madrid, Spain and laments that he has no story to tell since he has not been robbed yet. He tries to get robbed in order to have something to report about. These growing up stories had little impact. The best story was about a woman who moves in with another woman whose boy friend is always nude. She gets talked into a three-some which she regrets.
The show tries too hard for style and features a long part that has all the cast members talking at once—each telling their own story. How nerve racking. This show seems thrown together as under written and not too well thought out. For this premise to work—there must be compelling stories that will grip us. Nothing here is even mildly interesting.
