Team up to present a 4-day
WORLD OF GEORGE BERNARD
SHAW FESTIVAL
May 20-23.
Artistic Director Robert Scogin will introduce Shaw — including fascinating material from his letters – as he kickoffs the festival at 9:30, Monday, May 20. At 1:30 in the afternoon, a film of The Millionairess will be shown and discussed.
Tuesday morning will focus on Shaw as political gadfly with a look at Major Barbara, while the afternoon session will shift to the morality (or lack thereof) of Mrs. Warren’s Profession.)
Wednesday morning, it’s Shaw vs. Shakespeare with actors from Shaw Chicago squaring off in a lively dramatic debate. In the afternoon, romp through ancient history with Caesar and Cleopatra.
Thursday: the grand finale will feature Pygmalion in the morning and My Fair Lady in the afternoon.
Location: Oakton Community College, 7701 Lincoln Ave., Skokie.
Cost: $96 for all 8 sessions or $18 individually.
